Flute, oboe, and bassoon students – Check out and consider registering for the 2024 Woodwind Chamber Music Day, held at the USC School of Music on Saturday, November 16 from 9am to 5pm.
In part due to the enthusiastic response from last year’s participants, we are focusing this year’s day for flute, oboe, and bassoon entirely on chamber music! The day will include a short faculty recital, performances by USC chamber ensembles, and intensive chamber music classes, workshops, and rehearsals for all students. A fundamentals class will be offered for middle school students on all instruments.
This year a short video submission, due November 4, is required to register. The recording should demonstrate the student’s current playing level so we can place them in the appropriate chamber group. Students are welcome to record all-state etudes for this submission, and we can provide written feedback about these or any video submissions upon request.
