Directors are cordially invited to nominate students for the 43rd Annual Winthrop University Invitational Band Clinic (IBC) to be held on November 21–23, 2024. Nominations are to be submitted via our online nomination form at the website below. This clinic is provided at no cost to both directors and students. Winthrop University IBC is thrilled to welcome two amazing guest clinicians for the weekend — Dr. Andrew Boysen, Jr. and Mr. Joe Gulledge. Dr. Boysen is presently a music professor at the University of New Hampshire, where he conducts the wind symphony and teaches conducting and composition. Dr. Boysen earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in wind conducting at the Eastman School of Music, his Master of Music degree in wind conducting from Northwestern University in 1993, and his Bachelor of Music degree in music education and music composition from the University of Iowa in 1991. Mr. Gulledge served as a band director in South Carolina for 28 years. He is past president of the South Carolina Band Directors Association and the current president for the South Carolina Music Educators Association. Mr. Gulledge received his Master of Arts in conducting at Sam Houston State University in 2010 and a Bachelor of Music from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 1994.

Nominations will be open until Friday, September 27. Directors will be notified of decisions regarding student selection the week of October 7.
