On Saturday, January 21, 2017, the South Carolina Intercollegiate Honor Band, under the direction of guest clinician, Dr. Rodney Dorsey, will present a free concert at 2:00 pm in McAlister Auditorium on the campus of Furman University. Dr. Dorsey is Director of Bands at the University of Oregon School of Music. He has a host of credentials that establish him as one of the most prominent wind band conductors in America.
The Honor Band is made up of students from 17 colleges and universities throughout South Carolina. They will be on campus for two days to rehearse and prepare this concert.

Jess Turner is a prominent national composer who calls Greenville, SC his home. The college band directors of South Carolina chose him for the commission based up his success as a composer with a regional and national profile.
