Registration Form

Showcase your band and give your students a positive experience by participating in the Olde English Festival of Bands. This annual competition highlights the most prestigious marching bands from North and South Carolina and rewards those bands which work hard to produce a top-notch performance.

BAND CLASSIFICATION
The number of wind players will determine band classification. Classifications are as follows:

Division I Class A 0-35
Class AA 36-60
Division II Class AAA 61-85
Class AAAA 86 +
Directors may elect to register in a higher classification, but may not register in a level lower than their class size.
JUDGING
Judges for the Olde English Festival of Bands are selected from some of the finest music educators in the Southeast. Judging will be caption style with three judges using the following breakdown for the final score:
Music/Execution/Content: 40 pts.
Visual/Execution/Content: 30 pts.
Overall Effect: 30 pts.
Additional judges will be assigned to judge Drum Majors, Colorguard and Percussion.

WARM-UP & PERFORMANCE
All bands should attempt to perform within a six to ten minute time span. Warm-up times and locations before performances will be provided. Changing facilities are available and all bands will be scheduled a specific changing time if they choose to use these facilities. Please contact Joe Gulledge or Larry Wells if we can be of further assistance.

AWARDS
Trophies will be awarded to all bands earning superior or excellent ratings. The top three bands in each class will receive trophies for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place. Additionally, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies will be awarded for music, drum major, drum line, and colorguard captions in each class. For both Divisions, the top-scoring band, regardless of class, will be awarded a Division Champion Trophy for their division. Finally, the band with the highest overall score of the day, regardless of class, will be awarded Grand Champion.		 REGISTRATION INFORMATION
To insure that you obtain a preferred performance position please complete the registration form and mail, along with a $35.00 application fee as soon as possible. Preferences for performance times within each class will be determined by the order in which completed registration forms are received. Deadline for registration is Friday, September 28th.

MISCELLANEOUS
Directors of registered bands will receive a complete packet including scheduled performance times, rule, regulations, and maps as well as information about the surrounding area. Passes for chaperones (1 per 10 band students) will be mailed with your packet before the festival. Bus and equipment truck drivers will also receive complimentary passes.

An assortment of booths will be set up providing fast foods, drinks, and souvenirs.
